Release Of Butterflies

Hi

I have always wanted to release doves on my wedding day but I find they charge alot of money for them. So I was sitting here thinking about it and I came up with this idea to release butterflies, I love them they are so gracious creatures and beautiful. But I am not sure how I can go about getting butterflies and how I would hold them until the time to release them as we say I do.. I am from Kelowna, BC, and I was wondering if there is anyone who can give me an idea on how I can do this.....

So can someone please email me and let me know if this can work..

Thank you

You can purchase them at different butterfly farms but it is very very expensive. If you look in the back of different bridal magazines there are ads for them. I also would love to do this for my wedding but it is very highly priced. Good luck and if you need some websites you can e-mail me.

Hi Ashley

Do you happen to know any websites in that may tell me about the butterlfy release...

I am just wondering if I was able to catch some butterflies, I wondering if that would be the inexpensive way..... We have a butterfly bush in our back yard, and we have a net, so maybe that would make my dream come true.....

We can help you order butterflies if that is what you want. However, I always caution brides...

Research the climate in your area. I`ve heard horror stories regarding butterfly releases gone wrong. (dead butterflies, butterflies falling to the ground, etc...)

I saw a butterfly release at a charity event that went off beautifully, but the company that put on the event carefully researched everything and released them at the right time of day when the light/temperature was perfect.

The last thing you want on your special day is a bunch of dead butterflies....

I am also having butterflies released for my wedding.i`m having my daughter and her cousins catch them the day of the wedding.she`s practiced and the different kinds of butterflies were killing each other.so keep them seperated and try to have catch them that day.they die after a few days.feed them flowers with nectar and apples.hope this helps.

We`ve included information about both dove & butterflies for ceremonial use in our "recommended links" page on our main website (logoswed.bigstep.com).

Hoping this helps,
