Caterer Prices

I am wondering what is an appropriate price to pay a cater to serve food when you pay and prepare all the food. I think they are over pricey.any help is appreciated.thanks

Depends on what type of food you are serving (buffet? Sit down dinner? Stations? Passed hors doevres? A combination of any of these?). It also depends on how many guests at your reception and the number of hours. Give us more information.

If you are doing all the preparing....bypass the caterer completely. Hire some women who would like to make some side money. I did this once about 10 years ago and hired some seminary students. They came dressed formally and made sure everything ran smoothly all night.
