I am having a fall wedding too and it seems no one has ideas or decorations! But I did come up with a few things. I bought fall colored silk leaves that I will spread on the tables at the reception. To glitz them up a little, I am putting a light gold sparkle paint on some of them. Also, for my place cards, i got "Earth Tags" at AC Moore. The look like gift tags, with a hole punched in them. They come in about 5 fall colors. I am tying raffia throught the holes. I found a few fall invitations, but I am making my own, and I found all the papers at AC Moore as well. Feel free to email me to rebound some ideas off of one another.

Hiya :) I`m just another bride in the same boat it seems, but I have already come up with some ideas for the wedding. Take what you can and add more if possible!
Theme: autumn We picked a maple leaf sort of idea and so far it is coming together nicely without being too frilly or too masculine for either of us.
It`s an autumn maple leaf theme with forest green as our color along with some of the burgandy, oranges, browns, etc. Mixed in.
Favors: wilton cookie cutters shaped like maple leaves (I can`t find the URL, but I bet you can go to wilton.com to still find them... Maybe even at a discount since it`s so far past the season? http://www.wilton.com/wiltonos/default.asp?search=search&nProd=1756&nCat=112&itemno=2308-1021) take the cookie cutter and completely wrap it with a lovely fall multi-colored ribbon
We are also considering taking bulbs, wrapping them in the dark green tissue paper and then tulle with an appropriately colored satin ribbon and including something like
"Plant me deep within the earth,
As each year comes our love will grow
Moments of tears and years of mirth,
The fruits of our labors this blossom will show."
Or something that basically says hey plant me in the ground and each time I bloom think of the wedding couple and how they`ve grown in their relationship etc. :) It still needs some work!
Invitation ideas: we took christmas wrapping paper (on sale after the holiday!) and are going to tuck our wedding invitation (on simple parchment cardstock with a deckled edge) with the three maple leaves (invitations by Dawn) at the top and the closed invite inside with a single golden maple leaf seal. We also chose to do a post card reply ( less $$) and included this phrase on the invite:
"As autumn leaves turn their brillant hue, two hearts will join and say "I do".
Cake: grooms cake: http://www.wilton.com/recipes/recipesandprojects/thanks/leafy_luscious.cfm
Bridal cake: we`re doing 3 cakes with the leonidas roses on top set up in an ascending pattern to the smallest cake but each cake separate on pedastals. We`re then scattering some silk maple and oak leaves around the base mixed with some of the leonidas petals around the cake with our special topper (from his family) on the table on a special display.
For the decorations for the reception, we are continuing the maple leaf theme... Each table topped with a candle centerpiece (it varies e-mail me if you need a pic?) and around that candle center piece is a grapevine wreath done with the same ribbon as the cookie cutters, silk maple leaves, acorns, a few pine cones etc. On the table is scattered some more of the maple leaves. We haven`t yet decided on cream on green or green on cream but the two colors really made the tables "pop" w/o huge extra cost. The lighting is a million and one tea lights in various clear glass holders that I have picked up at garage sales, on sale, pitched to the curb, and borrowed. (Don`t forget the sticky tag on the bottom so you can remember who gets back what. We did a number on the bottom and it corresponds to the name. Easier clean up in the end!) Randomly interspersed we are also placing wooden frams of various sizes with pictures of us from every age. These are on the guest table, gift table and two large 3 panel hickory stained screens with places for pictures (thank you garden ridge!) serve as back drops for behind the foods and for behind where we will be sitting to take a peek at the wedding event. For the main wedding cake table we have used some candleabras and two basket woven cornucopias with grapes, apples and other delicious fruits, cheeses, and crackers springing forth mingled with homemade breads (amish friendship, strawberry, pumpkin spice, banana nut, zuchinni, etc) sliced and ready for consumption.
Our flowers: maple leaves, leonidas roses, vendella roses, coffee berry (burgandy to reddish), alstromeria, mini-calla lillies all in burgandy, deep oranges reds browns and greens to continue with the theme and to be absolutely fabulous!
We`re also taking use of some help from our church to pull it all together. Couldn`t do it w/out them! Please send any Q`s to bohhbo@yahoo.com
Hope this gives you some ideas to start with. Good luck!

I too am getting married in October. I have a few ideas beyond the "pumkin" theme but am still working on it.
For starters, I am using bushels of wheat - an idea I got from Martha Stewart - as a center piece for my tables tied with a ribbon. Choices come in either fresh or dried wheat (but also can include other grains as well). Then I was going to scatter the table with dried leaves (oak) and have a few votive candles.
I`m heading toward using a Oak Tree motif on my invitations and going for chocolate brown or a rustic brown for my colors - men`s suits are navy with brown and gold ties & bridesmaids` are chocolate color with gold, orange, red colored flowers.
Also, think I am going towards a chocolate cake as well.
I also saw a very cute idea in a magazine where the bride wore a plaid "Burberry" shawl over her dress - not for the ceremony but when she was taking pictures outside, etc. She also formalized it by using deep red roses. The brown rustic look with the deep red was very classy looking.
Anyways, those are just some ideas...

Hello!! Wow! Tons of October/November brides!! Our wedding date is October 16, 2004. I am going with a red wine color, but am finding that i am very limited in finding decorations. Mostly everything is burgundy. I am debating changing my colour to burgundy. . . . Has anyone else found anything in wine?? Any other tips?? Some of your ideas are great!

For the girl who wanted to know about the "burgundy" situation...If you have a David`s Bridal near by, they have an awsome color called "apple" It`s not burgundy or wine. I`m getting married on November 6, 2004. I got advice from someone to use dried out corn stalks and white pumpkins for decorations.

I didn`t realize how popular the fall is for weddings! I am also getting married on Oct 2, 2004. I need some help if anyone can- I have always wanted red/orages/yellows for my outdoor wedding- which works out with the fall thing. However, my wonderful fiance` asked if I could tie some blue into it because it is his favorite color. Now I can`t say no to that- he actually cares about this and wants to participate. So the problem is oranges tend to go better with plums, not blues.
Anyone have any ideas by chance, maybe a shade of blue or another idea? :)

I`m planning an October wedding too! I came up with carmel apples for favors wrapped in cellophane and tied with raffia. To add to the fall theme we are adding red berries to the deep yellow roses in the bridesmaid bouquet. To set the fall feelings of romance add lots of candles in luminaries along the outdoor path, floating in low vases and bowls on tables , several sizes grouped together in the center of the table. You can also mix fruit fall fruit such as small apples, pears and oranges with walnuts and acorns still in the shell in a tall cylinderwith cinnamon sticks as a centerpiece surrounded by artificial leaves and small votive candles.
Congrats Ladies!

I`m getting married on November 7, 2004 in New York. If anyone else is getting married here in New York this year or the next, I would suggest looking into www.cakeline.com uder press I orded this Autumn cake from Cynthia. It`s a white 3 tired cake with autumn leaves coming down the sides. It`s eatable. And it looks real it`s amazing!
For my center peice I couldn`t any flower arrangment that I liked for the fall, so I went with candles pilars, in different sizes about 8 on a plate it looks wounderful.
For the favor I picked Carmel candy apples with welnuts & a donation to Cancer.
Congratulations Everyone!

Hi Sam, My sister is going to get married in September of this year or in 2007, I am one of her bridesmaids. She is having an autumn wedding in Rushpool hall hotel in Saltburn-by-the-sea in north east of england. My sister is having an autumn wedding aswell as you, I think she is having Chocolate- brown wedding dresses for herself and all the bridesmaids, that is very autumn coulers. It may change between then and her wedding, but lets wait and see. The photographs may be autumn type. You could have an autumn type wedding cake with leaves decorated around it, or you could have your photograph taken in an autumn type background. You can email me at emma.wood92@ntlworld.com if you need any more ideas. I hope this infomation helps!

I am planning a Fall Wedding as well and for my table settings I have the idea of having a wreath in the center with Red, Yellow and various Fall flowers wrapped around it. Then in the middle I want to have tiered candle stands that are slightly decorated with somekind of greenery or flowers and have floating candles in them. Then sprinkle rose petals all around between the candle center and the wreath.

My daughter married in the fall and had a beautiful wedding. We did individual tables at the reception with laterns with candles lite in each one surrounded by silk fall leaves. For favors we made sugar cookies in the shape of different leaves and put in gold, brown , burnt orange organza bags tied with matching ribbons and a note thanking people for attending. Her bridesmaid dresses were chocolate brown with burnt roses and calla lillies. Laterns can be found at stores like TJ Maxx or even Home Depot and Lowe`s. Each table`s latern can be different. One thing we did was to spray paint the black ones a copper color and they looked great! Good Luck!

An inexpensive Fall centerpiece...take fresh cranberries, put them in ivy bowls (you can get these at hobby lobby or michael`s), then place a candle in there. You have a glowing centerpiece with lovely color.

I am getting married in September 2006. We found fall leaf garland and woven cornucopias at Dollar Tree and are using them along with fall vegetables/fruit for centerpieces. Not sure if we will add lighting with candles or not. But the cornucopias and leaves were very cheap and will make a very nice centerpiece when my mom and I finish them.

I am also having a fall wedding Sept 30, 2006 I looked everywhere on the net for a wedding cake topper and just could not find the perfect one.. I did find these cute little kissing squirrels so I ordered them and made my own with a plastic topper heart that I cut in half.. I also found a web site that has fall leaves printed out on wafer paper that are edible you cut them out and they look real.. And a really good price too. I am also going to use pumpkins to decorate with but am going to use gords and squash and Indian corn if I can find it for the center pieces maybe with some candles mixed in with them. My mom found some apple barrels that she is going to do flower arrangements in I am sure they will look great. The leaves I was talking about can be found at http://www.sugarcraft.com/ hope this helps someone..

I am getting married in the fall of 2008. For my centerpieces I am using cornucopias filled with red and yellow sunflowers, gerbea daisies and fruit such as apples, pears, grape clusters, and mini pumpkins. I am also going to spread fall leaves down the center of the tables to set them on with frost votive candles. For the bridal table I am going to do floating candles in fall flowers in a white pedestal bowl. Grape clusters will surround the bottom. I am going to strand autumn leaves around a white arc. I am going to use few pumpkins, though, that I will paint gold and set on a bed of fall leaves on each side of the arc.
