Don`t Go To Davids` Bridal

I`m glad "recentbride" didn`t have the problems with David`s Bridal that so many of us are experiencing. However, I do have another issue with them.
The gown I purchased (like most) needs to be altered. We had the MANAGER of alterations come take a look at what needed to be done to the gown and I was appalled at what she was planning on doing to the gown. First and foremost, it needs to be hemmed. (I`m rather short) Her idea was to hem it from the BOTTOM, where, I might add , there is a lot of lace and a definite design! Hemming it from the bottom would have totally altered the look of the gown, dare I say, it would have ruined the look of the gown. I took the gown (unaltered) to our local seamstress who almost fell over when I told her what the alterations manager at David`s Bridal had told me! My seamstress, of course, told me that she would alter the gown from the waist ( the seam is "hidden" under a thin ribbon and flat bow which is located at the empire waist.)
I honestly would not trust David`s Bridal to alter burlap curtains for a tar paper shack!!!!!!!
Good luck!
