Jewish Wedding Band/East Coast

I am looking for a wedding band that plays traditional Jewish music, but I also want to boogie! Is there a band out there that can play both kinds of music well. Wedding in Baltimore/Washington DC area

Yes, there are lots of them. Call the Washington Talent Agency and they will give you demo tapes to view, then you can book a band through them. One of the most popular ones is called Onyx, but there are plenty more.

Dear Linda - Thanks for your reply. Onyx is a great band, but not a Jewish band. The problem with bands from the agencies is that they are not steeped in Jewish tradition (don`t know which songs are appropriate for a wedding versus bar mitzvah, mispronounce words in Hebrew, play the same medley of Jewish songs as many other agency bands)

Oh, sorry. You didn`t ask for a Jewish band. You originally asked for a band that will play traditional Jewish music and music to "boogie" to. There are lots of bands like that. Onyx was but one example, although they do have a song list that includes at least 30 traditional Jewish songs, you pick the ones that you want.

But now you are saying you want a Jewish band, a band steeped in Jewish tradition. I would suggest you contact your (or any) local synagogue for some referrals. I`m sure there are several to choose from, I just don`t know who they are. The only bands I know of like this are out of the NY area. Don`t know if you`d be willing to fly in a band.

Hi. Thanks again for your reply. Silly me didn`t even bother to check THIS website, and I found a band on Partypop that sounds great (already checked their references) FYI, it`s The Mark Novak Band
