Inderal
I have suffered from the blotchy skin for about 10 years. I went on Inderal (10mg, 2x`s a day). I have been on it for only a month but sadly have not yet seen a decrease in the blotchiness of my skin.
Does anyone know how long it took to see a difference? Should I give it another month? Also, has anyone tried Zoloft?
Ps. It`s so nice to know that I am not alone!

Don`t recognize this medicine`s name. But, more importantly: what skin condition has been diagnosed?
It took me years to discover I was suffering from Rosacea. Then it became a matter of determining what topical &/or ingested medications were effective w/o unacceptable side-effects. Now, this skin-&-ocular disorder of mine has been mostly "under control" for 5 or so years.
Your mention of Zoloft doesn`t quite follow from your previous thoughts. Zoloft is prescribed for anxiety disorders. I took it for about a year, several years ago, as part of a study-group. One warning: it can really dampen your sexual drives.

KD you need to increase the dose, inderal needs 1 1/2 to 2 hours to take effect ... I take 40 mg before any event i know i´m going to be nervous and blotchy and it really eliminate the red splotches on neck/chest, also makes me feel more relaxed.

You need to go to your doctor. Never increase a medication without consulting your physician. Most drugs are based on a height, weight, body size ratio to determine the dosage, so a certain amount for one person can be seriously damaging to another. Make an appointment, keep it. Go to the doctor and tell her/him that it isn`t showing any improvement and ask about other options. Good luck to you.

KD, I also believe that you need to increase your dose to about 40mg as I started with 20mg to no avail. But DO check with your doctor first.

Missy, bright red blotchy skin in anxious situations (ie. Weddings) does affect a minority of people so we are involved in this board to share effective treatments. If this does not occur to you then yes this is YOUR OFF AREA so goodbye!
