Wedding At State Park!

I really need ideas on this one. I am wanting to get married at Cumberland Falls, in Southern Ky. The problem is, even though our backdrop will be "The Falls", and it is a State Park, how would I be able to decorate? Is it not really a good idea to do it there? I would really like opinions. This is my second marriage, and we will be having a Family Ceremony involving my 2 daughters. Please send ideas, I am about to pull my hair out!

Hello,
Sounds like you have picked a great back drop. I would love to send ideas your way... But I have not been to those falls yet. Could you send me at picture of the area that you are going to get married at and I will be happy to let you know what I think..:)

Hi --

Just your ceremony, or your reception as well?

For the ceremony, I can`t see any need to decorate Nature! It sounds lovely as it is. And even though I think candles around water are a wonderful accent, if your ceremony is during the daytime, the sunlight will render this rather useless.

Best of luck,
Bonnie

Potted plants to make an aisle are beautiful. I got married outside in September and used variuos colored potted Daisy Mums to coordinate with the colors of the wedding (ivory, and lavander). We wrapped the bottom of the pots in tulle and tied beautiful silver bows around the tops of the pots. They were amazing and fit right into the scenery. If you contact a local family owned farmers market or garden store, maybe they could cut you a deal if you buy alot. That is what we did! GOod luck!

I am also getting married at Cumberland Falls State Park. However, we are getting married on the patio at the lodge. I`m not sure if you were told this or not, but you cannot reserve any area by the Falls so you would have to have someone hang out and kind of save it for you. I would love to talk to you about any ideas or planning you are doing for your special day. I am from Ohio and could use any help you are willing to give me.

Thanks and
Congratulations!
