Cake/Punch Reception Invitations

We are having a cake punch reception. Should I put on the invitation "cape punch reception immediately following" so they know ti eat before they come?
Thanks

I think telling people what to expect is a great idea. The last thing you want is hungry/angry wedding guests. --Moment to Remember.com

I am getting married on valentines day, and I am having a cake and punch reception as well. My fiance is a minister at the church where we will be married, and the cake and punch reception is the "norm" there. However, I teach in a very affluent neighborhood, and have invited all colleagues and students, so they are accustomed to quite a different definition of reception!

We printed our own invitations...I think I may revise invites for these folks to include "cake and punch reception following the ceremony". Instead of siimply "reception following the ceremony"...Is this tacky?

Are you serving anything besides cake and punch?
