How Do You Make Your Own Wedding Invitations?

I am attempting to make my own wedding invitations from my computer, does know how to go about doing so without them looking like they were printed off the computer? I plan to buy some nice stationary from Barnes and Noble but have no clue how to start this project. I want them to look somewhat professional. HELP SOMEONE!!!!

Thanks,
Jen

My mother and I printed my wedding invitation on our computer and they came out beautiful. You can go to Staples and find beautiful cards. We had used ivory cards with velum overlay with a ribbon at the top. They were gorgeous. No one believed me when I told them we had made them ourselves. It`s very easy. And it`ll save you a boat-load of money. Invitations are WAY overpriced. Good luck!

We bought an Invitation Kit from Office Depot for 30.00. The directions are included, along with a web site with templates. It was quite simple, and they do not look homemade. Good luck! You can adorn with ribbon and overlay vellum...

Hi jen,
I have made my invitations on my computer. I purchased them online. If you would like some help e-mail me samw1955@aol.com
Mine are beautiful and you cannot tell that I made them, and I saved so much money doing them that way.
Good luck.

I just wanted to recommend that if you don`t have a laser printer of your own, borrow one. The ink coverage is better and it will look much more sharp. Unfortunately, you would only use black ink (unless you can find a color laser printer).

Also, I had a friend who bought a very nice stamp and used silver ink (it was very simple clipart with that she had custom made into a stamp). I couldn`t believe she did it with a stamp! It looked as if it was custom on a press (fooled me and I am a graphic designer for a print shop). I am sure that if you have custom stamp places in your area you could do the same.

AVERY PAPER COMPANY HAS TRANSLUCENT PAPER THAT YOU SEE IN INVITATIONS. IT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL PLUS YOU CAN BUY THEM AT STAPLES FOR A CHEAP PRICE.
