Bride Desperately Needs Help!
I had all of my bridesmaid`s picked out for my wedding, and my future mother in law is trying to get me to add girls to my bridal party! The girls are my fiance`s cousin, and a friend of their family, and I don`t hardly even know them! I`m not having my cousins, and I had a hard enough time choosing which of my firends should be included...how can I get her to understand that the bridesmaids are friends of the BRIDE? I have no problem honoring them in another way, but she wants them to process down the aisle, and I feel she is over steping her bounds. What should I do?

TACT!!! You are correct, it is your choose in bride maids. Can you tactfully explain to your future mother in law that while you understand her desire for the cousin to be in the wedding, you need to limit the number of attendants. Good luck this is a relationship that you will have forever. Learn to deal with her now or she will be naming your children someday. Maybe your future husband would consider having his cousins at his attendents.

I too recommend tact. However, you have to let her know how you feel, she obviously dosn`t know how it works. Maybe you can have your fiance speak to her. The other suggestion was good, can the girls be on your fianc`s side, they could wear black dresses or a color to compliment the groom`s vests. Something to think about. Good luck

How does your fiance feel about this. Maybe he can suggest they be hostess or readers at the wedding. I have also seen where two to four "honorary" bridesmaids will walk down the isle before anyone else does. They will hold candles and line up evenly on each side of the aisle as everyone else walks down the aisle. It is very pretty and they still get to be in the party. The one I went to they had similar dresses as the bridesmaids but, not exact dresses. I guess you could even have them wearing your accent color of your wedding.
