Need A Elegant, Yet Cheap Dress For Pictures

Hi I was married on August 17th 2002. I am very happy with how the wedding turned out, however I am not satisfied with my wedding dress. I bought it in Russia for $60. My husband and I come from a very conservative church, so my apperal had to be conservative. All of our wedding pictures turned out to look like I was wearing a white mattress sheet over my head and all the pictures of me look like a white blob. It was very very simple, yet very conservative. I don`t know wheather this is wrong, but I want to find a wedding dress that is very elegant and my type. If we do decide to go through, we wanted to retake some of our wedding pictures in on our anniversary, and have a small (just the two of us) party. We live near the beach, so we were thinking about going to the beach and having pictures done there, and stroll down boardwalk, and have a private dinner with music and dancing, and spend the night in a nice hotel. Is it wrong? If some agree with me, can somebody help me find a dress? I don`t care if its used or not. Thank-you

Try looking on "ebay" or visiting a second hand shop, some places will even let you rent a dress. Try wedding shops and see if they rent dresses.
Contact your local collage and see if someone in a "Sewing Class" could make one for you. Buy a prom dress from a local retail shop or check your newspapers for dresses being sold.

Hmm ... To do this *just* for the photos seems like such a wasted expense. So why not make it "real", instead?

Why not use your anniversary as a 1st-year "renewal of vows" ceremony, w/ just a few guests invited to celebrate this w/ you?

Call it any of several things: "Renewal of Vows", or "Rekindling Ceremony", or "Our Re-Commitment", etc. Wear the attire you want for it & its photos. But do keep it "honest", rather than just a photo-op for that sake alone....

As for the attire, I`ve no advice beyond eBay, "consignment" stores, & classified ads in newspapers. Or making it yourself, if you can sew.
