Anyone Gone 2 Puerto Vallarta 2 Get Married?
I`m looking into getting married in Puerto Vallarta in 2005.
I`m hoping to find someone who has been there and gotten married.
I`d like to know your experience and which Wedding Planner you may have delt with. So far I have had little responce from people claiming that they arrange weddings there.
I`m from Canada and would like it if someome could tell me how they went about things from a Canadian point also.

Well I think we have decided on PV at a place called "Le Kliff Restaurant & Bar" It`s absolutly awesome. The only problem is that no one is getting back to us about making the arrangements. Were looking at staying at a "Villa" instead of a hotel so that it is more intimate and were able to be with family. Comparing the prices of a villa to a hotel there is alot of savings!! You can rent a 8 bedroom home and still come out saving.
My MOH (maid of honor) just spent 3 months down there so we have tones of info now that she brought it back. Some people have said you have to get the blood work done down there and others say you can do it here so were not sure. I`m hoping to gain contact with someone and figure everything out.
Being a Wedding Planner myself this is not a hard thing for me to do, it`s just relying on someone else like this is where the problems begin.
I would love to know how your planning goes, keep in touch.

Here is more about some of the legal stuff... From http://www.virtualvlarta.com/vallarta/articles/ss01-weddingsinvallarta.html
Your marriage will be completely legal in your home country if you obey the Mexican laws that require a civil ceremony performed by a Justice of the Peace and acquire the documentation needed from both your home country and Mexico (make two copies of every document because you will need to present the originals).
LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
• Certified copies of birth certificates. Canadians must have their birth certificates stamped and signed by a Mexican Consulate. Other foreigners must obtain an apostille from the Secretary of State where they were born – allow at least three weeks for this step. These documents should be in Vallarta at least one month before the ceremony to allow time for translation.
• Permission from the immigration office in Puerto Vallarta.
• Health certificate. A blood test must be performed in Vallarta within 15 days before the wedding. A certificate of health will be issued and must be among the documents presented to the Registro Civil (county clerk’s office).
• Request for permission to marry from the Registro Civil.
• Certified death certificate or divorce decree from any previous spouse. Please note that at least a year must have passed since the death or divorce before you can remarry here.
• Passport or other immigration documentation authorizing presence in Mexico.
• Official identification with photo.
• Two witnesses for each member of the couple. They can be friends or family members, except parents, and must be over 18 with IDs. They must be present during the ceremony to sign the marriage certificate.
With so many details to attend to, couples often choose to hire a wedding consultant. In addition to organizing the ceremony, reception and parties, the consultant usually will explain the legal documentation needed, present the documents to the Registro Civil, reserve the time for the wedding with the Justice of the Peace, and arrange special packages with hotels for your guests. The earlier you get in touch with a consultant, the better. Six months in advance is recommended. That way, you can relax and enjoy your picture perfect wedding in paradise.
Hope this helps..:)
