Maggie Sottero Gowns Bought On Line?

Hi there

I am very interested in this thread as I want to buy a Maggie gown and I have been told by my own bridal salon (in all confidence of course) that I can find a much better price over the internet in the US (I am in Canada). Is anyone from Canada here and if so can you tell me about shipping to Canada? I understand it is cheaper to send to a US address then get them to send it to you as a "gift"??

I am also very interested in this thread as I am looking for a Maggie Sottero Julie, but in the UK the salons are charging around 600 GBP. I am curious about the reference to the UK site hillcrestgowns.com as it is true they are a little bit cheaper for people in the UK for not for you guys in the US. I have seen US stores selling the Julie gown for 440 dollars (about half the price compared to UK). The problem I have is with getting enough confidence to buy from someone on the oher side of the world and find out how it works with regards to shipping. It is true I think that to have it sent to you as a gift is the best method. I would interested to hear if anyone has any experience of ordering online from the US to the UK.

I am a bridal shop in Pa. I do carry Maggie Sottero. I would recommend being very cautious about purchasing over the internet. Get a phone # for the company selling you the gown. But, I must say that Maggie Sottero doesn`t recommend buying over the internet.

I think the reason behind this is b/c alot of places are selling knock-offs of the original Maggie Sottero gowns as True Maggie gowns. The internet is full of people looking to make a quick buck at the expense of others. I will say that if you are going to buy over the internet, check out Maggie Sottero`s website and make sure that the company is an authorized dealer.

I am not as cheap as I thought i would be for US customers as the shipping prices are high. What you have to remember is if you are buying a gown from the US you will have customs charges and vat charges on top and it can come in at £100.00. So it may be just as easy for youto buy from the UK plus postage is easier to keep track of and also we have the same consumer laws in the UK compared to you buying from the U.S feel free to email me if you want a chat about it.

I forgot to mention, not all places will sell it to you as a gift, it is not worth it to them, if something goes wrong they can`t claim it on their insurance, some companies are different though.
