Marriage In Kauai

I am planning on getting married in Kauai March 8th 2004. I am also having trouble deciding on the wedding planner. Any suggestions? Is it better to obtain your marriage license prior (in your own state) to arrival or get it there? Not really sure what to do. It will just be myself and My fiance and we do not want to spend a great deal.

I`m also getting married in Kauai (Valentine`s Day 2004). I don`t really know about a wedding planner (we are having a simple ceremony on the beach), but if you are getting married in Hawaii, you must have a Hawaiian marriage license, another states is not valid. Try www.kauai.com, www.hawaii.com, www.bestofhawaii.com - I thought they had some good information on them. Hope that helped - at least a little.

Who Arranged your wedding on the beach? are you having photos? What about the marriage license the same day?

We didn`t really have anyone arrange anything. My fiance and I set it up. A relative of my fiance`s mother lives in Kauai and gave us the name of a minister. All my fiance and I wanted was to be married on the beach at sunset with tikis. We are purchasing a camcorder that will allow us to take still pictures from recorded video and that`s how we will get our pictures. There will only be about 7-10 people attending total, so the day before the wedding we will go to the grocery store and pick up some finger foods and easy grilling foods and that`s what we`ll serve after the wedding. I don`t know about getting the wedding license on the same day - I don`t think it would be a problem as long as you did it early in the morning.
