Hi! I live in Anchorage and am planning my wedding here. Is this going to be a destination wedding or are you living here as well? Where are you interested in?

I live in Alaska, and I am hoping to find a nice location in the Anchorage area. Any advice??? I am willing to travel a little ways if there is a nice (inexpensive) location within a small driving distance.
Thank you, and CONGRATS!

I would recommend Kincaid Park. It is inexpensive and you can bring your own caterer/liquer.
I am having my reception at my church`s reception hall (St. Patricks). Other options that come to mind are Alpenglow Ski Lodge and Hilltop Ski Lodge. They both have web pages posting their prices, etc.
Many hotels in Anchorage have great packages - but they run a little on the high side. Alyeska offers some great packages, but of course their prices are a little higher, and it is in Girdwood. One benefit of this, though, is your guests can get a room instead of driving home - and you usually score a honeymoon room in the hotel for free.

I was just at Northway mall, and I seen they have a bridal fair Jan 31. Just thought I would let you know!

Yes, I`m searching like crazy for a ceremony and reception location! It`s tougher than I thought! Lots of ideas for the reception, but does anyone have any suggestions on ceremony sites other than churches?

I`m having the same problem, I`m finding lots of information about Alaskan weddings, but not what I`m looking for (a unique site location to have the ceremony). Surely somebody has information/ideas!
