I understand you want to have a theme, but dictating what your guests wear, all the way down to the color of their clothing, is not appropriate. If you feel the need to put "semi formal" on the invitations, go ahead. But I wouldn`t go any further than that.

I agree. It sounds like a wonderful idea, but it really makes it a hardship on your guests, and some might decline your invitation just because of "the dress code". Maybe you can just have your bridal party dress that way. Hope everything goes well.

I love your idea..:) It sounds like it would be a fun event..:) Instead of having it on the invites, have it spread by word of mouth..:) Or maybe if you do put it on the invites that you suggest it in a way that it would be cute. Something like an event that you can wear you little black dress to..? I would not put it that they have to wear something in black because I know some people who dont wear anything black.
