Need A Flowergirl

Hi, I`m getting married in the summer of 2004. I have almost everything planned out except for a flowergirl and ringbearer. We can`t find anyone that would be old enough to be either. So exactly how old do they have to be in order to be a flowergirl/ringbearer. His niece is 9 and would love to do it, but I don`t know if she`s too old? I don`t want to get someone young enough and then have them get scared and not walk down the aisle. If that makes sense to anyone and you can help, please do.
Thank you so much,
Stefanie

No, 9 is not at all too old. My sister-in-law had three flower girls ages 7, 8, and 9. They were beautiful. In my wedding I had a 2yr old flower girl. She walked down the isle, dumped the whole basket of petals on the floor and ran to her grandmother. The ring bearer, also 2, made muscle man poses in our pictures. Everyone thought they were the cutest things. The point is, This is your wedding and a reflection of you. You need to make it personal. It needs to be someone you and your fiance` both care about. I have been to many weddings and have never heard anyone say anything but good things about the flower girl and ring bearer. They are too busy talking about the bridesmaids dresses (ha, ha). The only thing that is guaranteed is that everything will not go as planned. Congratulations and good luck!

Nine is fine. It`s not too young and it`s not too old. But the important thing is that she`s already expressed that she would love to do it. So what`s holding you back?
