Need Ideas!!!
Hi!
My wedding is in June, 2004. I feel like im way behind on my wedding plans. I am not much of a creative thinker so therefore I need a lot of help. I want to decorate very unqiue yet very cheap. I am willing to
Make a lot of it to cut corners but I just don`t have any ideas.
Also I am having trouble with picking out music for the ceremony. I have a male and female singer with just a pianist. I don`t want to use songs that are overused at weddings.
I would love to hear everybody`s ideas. Hope to get some good ones.
Thanks!

I am located in Iowa.
My colors are a shimmering lavender (wisteria) and silver.
At this point I am not sure how many tables but we will be serving about 300 people.
Thanks for the reply

Well I was going to do most of it myself but I found folks to do it for me at a couple dollars extra less the stress. The centerpieces are by a florist in Ga, cheap but the work is super and it costs $25.00 per table with sprinkled rose petals on the table.
We are doing a brunch buffet instead of a sitdown meal. The cake will come to us with just a sugar paste or smooth frosting and our florist will decorate it with flowers and ribbons ( cheaper than getting one decorated by the baker).
The invitations and accessories I get at 30 to 50% off retail price. I will order then January.
If you have any questions email me directly at thevariethstore1@yahoo.com

Tamara-
I tried to email you but it keeps coming back and says that your email account does not exist.
But heThanks for replying right away.
Some things I have decided so far are getting a bunch of white
Christmas lights and tulle. They will go along ways and it will look pretty.
Also I like poetry and I have picked out a lot of quotes and poems that
I would like to share with people. I wanted to just display them some
How. Like something within the centerpiece but I am not sure how to do
That. I thought of doing a globe vase with marbles or sometihng in it
With water and a floating candle.
When it comes to spending money I am penny pincher so therefore I have
Been trying to think of many ideas that I could do myself. For party
Favors I thought of making large sugar cookies, shaped hearts, with
Purple and white frosting on them and then write things on them. Like "just
Married" me and my fiance`s names and things like that.
I would wrap them in little clear bags and tie it with a purple and
Silver ribbion.
Right now thats all I really have for ideas.
I need ideas for decorating the walls and the entrance of the reception
Building. The building is just an old gymanism. All it is is a gym and
A stage. Thanks again for replying and hope to hear from you again.

My mistake. The email address is thevarietystore1@yahoo.com. I am a penny pincher too but sometimes the stress and hassle is not worth a dollar. I have contacts to get certain things at a discout so feel free to use me if I can help in a peticular area.
Why not use place card holders to hold the poems? how large will they be 8 x 11 1/2 etc

Cute centerpiece idea: Cheap terra cota pots (with your poems painted on them), styrofoam balls placed on a stick and flowers/streamers/tissue stuck into the styrofoam ball with sewing pins. It would look like a mini tree.
Decorating idea for the gym door entry: Long, flowing pieces of toole (sp?) across the top of the door and down each side that are tied back with ribbon (like curtains). You`d want to do both sides of the door, going in and going out. It would be cool to have them hang in the door frame a bit. Maybe tie the inner and outer door materials together?
Just some random ideas.
