Wedding At Adler Planetarium In Chicago Help?
My fiance and I are mere days away from signing a contract and putting a deposit on the Adler Planetarium for our wedding ceremony and reception for June of 2005. We have some concerns we are hoping maybe some of you have experienced yourselves or as a guest to a wedding/event there.... We are concerned with the sunlight dramatically affecting the photography (flash showing in a reflection on the glass, etc). We are concerned that the sunlight could be blinding to guests prior to the sun going down... We are concerned with the sound/acoustics there for the band. Has anyone been to events at the Adler Planetarium that can offer some thoughts, comments, suggestions, etc?

Congrats on your wedding! My fiancee and I are looking to book at Adler as well. We think we`re getting hosed by the caterer... They want $125 per person (w/o an open bar.)...that seems steep to me. I was hoping we could bounce things off of each other to help each other out and maybe drive the price down a little...I know for my fiancee and I ...every penny counts!
Not sure on acoutics...I can ask my wedding planner...I think she has done a few events there before.

Thanks for the reply. Actually meeting with the Adler today to do number crunching. $125 pp with bar is actually not too out of line, but that number depends on everything you get... What type of entre, premium bar or deluxe bar, upgraded linens and chairs/chair covers, sweet table, appetizers, how many per person, etc. We are sitting down today and will have a much better idea of their flexibilities.
