Wedding Blues : (

The hard part of planning my wedding is giving me the blues. I have looked at everything from gardens to country clubs and now mansions and I can`t find anything that will fit into my budget. (paying for it ourselves) It`s a November wedding. I know that it is the off season for weddings too but, nothing within the pricing looks any cheaper. Any ideas on (NOT CHEAP) any reasonable wedding locations?

Hello Janeen, where are you located? I am a dealer with carlson craft and I am offering a great deal on wedding invitations and accessories. I can at least save you some money in that area. Email me at thevarietysore1@yahoo.com Have a blessed day.

You might want to look into restaurants, depending on how many guests you have of course. My sister searched for months and finally found a great Italian restaurant for $30 per person. This included food, dessert, centerpieces, all the table settings and then clean-up.

Check around and see if there are any halls that do packages. We found this place that was an old strip mall and it was changed into several halls and it even has a church. The package we choose is for the dj ,pastor, church, hall , bartender , servers , catered food and drinks ,table, chairs , and all cleaning. For 60 people this is running us about 1800.

I know wedding planning is so hard but dont let it get you down :-) Remember this is your day and people are coming to you and your sweetie :-) This is suppose to be a fun and special time.

If you live in a major metro-area, you can also look into ballrooms at some of the major hotels such as Marriott, Wyndham, Hyatt. We got a ballroom at a Marriott, no facility fee and only a $2,400 catering minimum. We decided against the normal $68 per guest traditional wedding package and chose a simple seated family luncheon for approx. $21 per person. Also, it`s cheaper to have a daytime function.

Hello,
Take a deep breath, this will work out also for you..;) I have a few questions. What state and city are you looking for a place? How many people are you planning on having at your reception? What time of the day are you planning on having your wedding and reception? What is your ceiling on price for the reception place?
If you want to email me directly please feel free, my email is angwillard@yahoo.com

I forgot to mention... I am in California (San Fernando Valley). My ceiling price is 10k for the ceremony and reception. (It`s really lower than that but I am hoping on a little help from my folks). I would like to have between 100-150 people. I want something beautiful but reasonable. I just can`t see myself spending over that on one day. Am I being unrealistic?

Wow, that is a nice wedding budget, I wish I had that amount of money for my wedding ;)

I have never been to CA, so I will not be much of a help, but have you looked into public parks, museums, college halls? Sometimes you can have the most beautiful weddings in public areas!

GOOD LUCK, and CONGRATS!
