Bat Mitzvah Dress Code
My husband and I have to attend the Bat Mitzvah of his step-sister. We are not Jewish and have never attended this ceremony before. What is the proper attire. It is not black tie, however, the family has put a lot of time and money into the occasion.

Hello there, I am Rabbi Moshe Akiva.
I am a Rabbi at atlanta, GA. I see you are having trouble with what to wear for that big occasion. Well let me tell you a short story... Once upon a time there was an elephant and he was invited to his friend`s party the goose. His friend the goose was religous... But the elephent called Philip did not know what to wear since he wasnt a jew at all! so he wore his underwears... He arrived at the party & everyone liked it. From now on everyone wears their underwears ONLY for big jewish occasions... You should try it too!
~Love you always~ MOSHE ((call me))

You should wear clothes that are toned down (so no flourescants) but not too dark, like black either. Settle for a modest fit with sleeves, that is in a toned down color like light blue or greens
