LOOKING FOR ANNE BARGE DRESS
Hi,
I am looking for an Anne Barge dress from her Spring 2002 collection. It is made of Mikado silk and has a split bateau neckline with detailing on the waist, insert and chapel-length train. It has a pleated full skirt and is absolutely stunning!
I am hoping somebody who wore this dress for their own wedding is looking to sell. I love this dress and desperately want to walk down the isle in it!
Thank you

There is a store in cincinnati that carries this dress but also carries a replica of it for much less. We held the two beside each other, and they were identical. The store is called bridal & formal. Cincinnati, ohio. I think the cost of the dress was slightly over $1000.

Kelly,
Thank you so much for responding. Do you remember if the fabrics were the same? I have actually found a replica, but it is not the same fabric and there is just something about the way that fabric feels that just makes the dress. I will definitely look into this shop in Cincinnatti. Thanks again for you help?

There was a very, very slight difference in the fabric. The replica was silk, but I don`t believe it was mikado. We felt the fabric several times, and they felt pretty close.

I know your message was posted in December, but I actually happened to try on the very same Anne Barge dress you`re describing yesterday and loved it, but when they told me it cost over $3,000 I choked. Did you ever find the replica in Ohio? I`m in Florida and would love to find a replica. Do you know who made the replica?

I wore this dress in my wedding last year. Its a size 10 but I wear a size 4-6. How much would you want to pay for it if you were interested.

Hi, Im also looking for an Anne Barge Dress. I might be crazy for thinking I can find it! Its a Spring 2004 dress. Its the dress on the right and is described as a "Full ballgown of asymmetrically draped silk taffeta rouched on the side with sashes and silk flowers, fitted basque waist bodice with beading and embroidery." If anyone knows how I can get this elaborate dress for cheaper let me know. Thanks so much.

Monica,
Do not give up on your dress! I wanted an Anne Barge dress so badly, but did not want to pay $4000 for it so I worked hard for 2 months, was dissappointed on several occassions, got creative and found a sample gown in Arizona (I am in Florida) in perfect condition for less than half the price (shipping included). It arrived and is beautiful and I can`t wait to walk down the aisle in it. So, keep it up.

Autumn,
Thanks for the encouragement. Got any more advise on where I should look to find it? Besides this site I dont know of any other place to keep looking. Thanks again :0)

Monica,
It took me about two months to find the dress I wanted and I almost gave up a zillion times and settled for something that I didn`t really love. I checked this site constantly, Ebay for a shop selling their sample and a few other sites that sell designer gowns discount. I can`t think of them right now, but I believe I kept the website names in my wedding planner. Keep in mind that wedding dress brokers check places like this site for women who want to buy these dresses. I`ll get back to you when I figure out what those other websites were.
