Can You Really Have A Second Wedding Ceremony
I want to renew our vows at our 10th (2009). Our wedding was a shambles. The music was messed up, the minister did not do what we asked, AND forgot the communion supplies (at a catholic wedding this is a big deal), The vocalist did not sing the song we commissioned, just one thing after another. So I want to do it again and have more control over it. It was a horrible day as far as weddings go.
But the facts are we ARE already married. I don’t like these renewal vows that sound just like the original. And it doesn’t make sense to have someone give me away. So I’m kind of thinking it just can’t really be done. That wedding day is lost and ruined forever and all I can do it drive on.
Anyone have any ideas?

Try starting with a theme. This makes planning a unique event a little easier.
Or, have you thought about a destination wedding? That makes for a wonderful celebration that is low-stress!

It will be a theme. We`re going to have a 10th celebration regardless. My issue is I`ve never heard, seen pr read renewal vows that weren`t weird. And walking down the aisle seems weird since in reality we are already married. It`s the ceremony part I would love to do, but have issues with how to do it that won`t rub me the wrong way.

I`ve been to numerous weddings where the bride didnt walk down the aisle. The couple was already up front. I`ve also been to a renewal where the husband and wife walked down the aisle togehter.

Yes, i was dreading the same thing can we have a 10th ceremony? my parents did it their way the first time, we are doing it our way this time, pick a fun theme, that is exciting and uplifting. Umm we dont have the 1st worries, but the 2nd time to do it right to last another 10 yrs good luck, i am calling my self "Bride the Sequel" i will have bridal luncheon where they will play games like eating pies, tossing eggs, things like that, it can be off the records what you want to do. We are doing a virtual wedding with a ball, and prince, and cinderella.
