Old Country Reception Ideas Needed...HELP
My fiance and I are getting married on Christmas Eve (a small family wedding at home) and are planning a large reception for the end of January. We are very involved in several clubs that collect antique farm related items. I`d like to use this type of thing for the reception but I need ideas on decorating, serving containers, etc. Etc. We both have silly personalities and have been trying to come up with outrageous and interesting things. For example punch served in a galvanized metal bucket. Chilli served from milk cans. The bride and groom stemware could be tin cups etc. Etc. Any creative or nutty ideas would be appreciated :)

Hello and Congratz...:)
Since you want the Old Country theme, here is a few ideas I thought of..:) Food wise do the country, farm menu.. Like fresh baked bread and other goodies that you would find on some weekend supper at a farm. Either use the old crock bowls or the old style metal buckets or containers. Chill the containers in a water troff.. (sp). Or have the meal servered like a large family meal in large bowls at each table. Oil lanterns and candles would give a nice look to the reception area. Maybe have a couple of the older tractors setup to take some pictures around. As for flowers you might want to go with a mixed wildflower look.
I would love to hear how your wedding reception turns out. :)
