David`s Bridal

My experience working at David`s Bridal is that we make mistakes like everyone else. But there are some customers that expect everything how they wanted, when they don`t do this the right way. When you go to the store we tell you how long the dresses take to get to you. You can ask for the price of the alteration before buying the dress, and it is your decision to buy, nobody is taking the money out of you.
I want to ask a question, If your service was so bad, why buy there?, I don`t understand. When the customer goes into the store we explain the discontinued issue, and what`s the answer, they won`t discontinued the dress i want. Then they do and the customer gets angry. When you pay the regular price of a dress you have the privilage to get it the size you want, and into the colors that comes the one you need, if is discontinued is logical that you can`t especial order it, so don`t complain about what you paid if at that moment you got privilage that others don`t have after. This is a matter of seeing the two sizes. And last but not least, the brides comes to the store, I go up to them to serve them and the first thing they said, I am just looking, then they expect a special service, you go to Kmart to look no to DB. Please people be reasonable, there are thousands of brides if we were to handle each one like princes we will be charging you like expensive boutike. Because the first thing you want when you go to the stores are the dresses that are special sale. Sorry to say all this, but some of you have the reason to be hangry because like a said at the begining who dosen`t make mistakes but people there some of you that are too much...Like you are hangry with DB, some of get hangry with some rude unpolite customers. That`s why I`am saying all this, and you think is fair to judge all of the same way. (No)
Some of you are great and some of you go treating us like we were your slaves.
Good luck where ever you go....

Ms. Consultant,
I have a question for you. I was planning on buying matching bridal and flower girl gowns at David`s. I went ahead and put my daughters` dress on layaway, paid the 1/2 down and then 2 weeks later went in to pay for it so they could place the order. They ordered it, but a few days later, called and said the dress had been discontinued. Why didn`t they know when I placed the order? If it wasn`t disc. At time of order, I should have had one waiting at the warehouse or whoever their distributor is. Well, they still had one in her size in the store, so I bought that one and yes, they did give me a 30% discount, for which I was glad to see. But now they are telling me that they have heard that my dress will be disc. And that I have to pay in full to get it before it is discontinued. I personally won`t have the whole $400 for another month or so. My wedding is in July. But they told me that will be too late as it will be gone in a couple of weeks. I would dearly love to find my dress to match my daughters. Do you know who the distributor of David`s dresses are so I can check with them to see if any other store or any other bridal store might have that dress available? I know you aren`t supposed to tell, but then again, I won`t be going into the local David`s again. The customer service there is awful, especially by the asst. Manager. That woman is a b#$ch. And I dont` say that lightly. Never have I met someone that won`t give you the time of day unless it looks like you are dripping with money. I was planning on buying for my whole bridal party (8 bridesmaids all together, which would have been a good sales commission for their store), plus my dress, but with that service, I am very disenchanted. I do have to say I have had a couple of very good sales women at that store, but they quit after a couple of months. I ran into one of them at a later time and she quit because of being treated horribly by the managers after failing to meet her quota by one sale was all, for one month. She had done well. That made me even more disgusted. Anyway, can you possibly give me the name of the distributor so I can see if they have the dress to match my daughters and also my bridesmaids dresses so they can make payments? I want my wedding to be special, and not have to worry about all this crap because of some store that only operates in the name of the almighty dollar. Any help would be appreciated. My email is bubbles155@cox.net. Thank you.

Well it seems like I`m the only one who has had a great time at DB. I got my dress there and might be getting the BM dresses there too. Compared to other store in my area they were MUCH more friendlier and helped out SOOO MUCH! Just had to say something nice for them.

I also had a wonderful time at DB. The lady I worked with was very attentive. She was running all over the place, grabbing other employees to give me opinions. I completely felt like a princess. I`m planning on getting my BM dresses there as well.

I also had a wonderful time at David`s. I bought my dress from there last night and I could not be more thrilled. My consultant was very attentive and helpful. But I guess it depends on where you go.

I think you are the same person and you must work for DB because I am sure they know how horrible they are and now they are trying to infiltrate this helpful website

No Bridebe...we are not the same person.....it is possible for two people to have the same name. I know many other Carrie`s myself...and no I do not work at David`s Bridal...I am a bride to be just like everyone else who has happened to have a good experience at DB`s unlike most people.... I just believe that instead of just spreading bad experiences about places to also spread good experiences...

I completely agree that if you had a good experience somewhere you should say so. As to the comment that we are trying to "infiltrate" this helpful website is absurd! If anyone is trying to do anything it is you and that crappy comment! Anyhow, I still had a wonderful time at my David`s, sorry you did not have the same.

Since I fear an immature person will accuse me of being Carrie pr Carri or whosoever they may think I am I left my email ( A valid temple university email) I obviously don`t have time to be an employee of david`s bridal if i`m in school all day from sept til dec and late jan til may. Now that i`ve cleared that up right away, I want to say I was in my cousins wedidng in july and the davids bridal in Deptford, NJ was wonderful to work with. We had a consultant named Lisa (unfortunately she is gone now). The entire dress process went very smoothly for my cousin and the prices are extremely reasonable. And then another DB in Springfield PA was horrible. I don`t think its the name that should be trusted but the specific locations, or even as specific as finding a good consultant at the location you go to. I am also going to be using DB for my gown and most likely the bridesmaid dresses as well. I highly recommend any NJ bride to be to check out the deptford location.

Ladies,
I think everyone should just relax and move on, I understand that there are some valid complaints as well as good experiences and people are just expressing their feelings about what happened to them at DB good or bad so let’s not pick on the people we don’t agree with and move on. I think to sum everything up we all want to be treated with respect and dignity no matter what amount of money we are spending, while I do agree the ladies who work in the bridal industry have a tough job and it is hard sometimes to put your best foot forward when dealing with indecisive brides and opinionated mothers, mothers-in law to be, etc. Perhaps keeping the focus on giving the customer in this case a Bride, the best possible experience will go a long way in relieving some of the complaints. I am by no means putting all the blame on the bridal consultants, customers
Or should I say future brides might considers doing a little homework before hand by flipping through some bridal magazines and look on line, study your body type when trying to figure out what type of silhouette is most flattering on your figure and by all means MAKE AN APPOINTMENT!!!
Rather than showing up with half a dozen of you closest girl friends pick just two people whose opinion you trust and value with you, believe me they will let you know if you don’t look good in a particular dress. I know that planning a wedding is not an easy task for everyone but there are a lot of resources out there you just have to be willing to put forth a little effort. Don’t be afraid to ask the consultants questions if you are unsure on something they are there to help you and I think in most cases they do a pretty good job in any case if you are not getting the type of service you think you should
Then move on, it’s that simple. I wish you all happy and fun filled experience as you plan your weddings!!!

I recently got married in September and had a mixture of experiencs with David`s Bridal. When I went to get my dress at the Springfield, Pa location, the consultant (Janie) was absolutely wonderful. A few weeks later, I went with 4 of my bridesmaids to get their dresses. The sales associates did not have the time of day for us. There is no point to make appointments if you are not going to get the attention of the sales staff. Dispite the "could be better" experience, I did go back to get my shoes from them. Springfield has since moved locations into a beautiful store, and again Janie was a doll! Despite the 1 difficult time that I encountered, David`s definately played an important part in my picture perfect day.

Wow!!! Girls, Im a new consultant for david`s Bridal and not only do i enjoy it, but the other consultants are wonderful. We try to treat every girl like their r first. Even when I went there to apply, they greeted me as soon as i walked in. Now Im a part of their team and I love it. I love watching the girls and hearing every different story. Ive developed relationships w/ alot of the people. I feel bad that some of u have had bad experiences, but if u werent happy u should of told a manager and they would have switched u to a different consultant. I think we do a pretty good job and i luv to hear people who r pleased w/ us and those who arent I apologize we try r best!!
