Davids Bridal Is Junk

Anyone who gets your dress from a Davids Bridal is the same as saying you got your dress at K-mart or Walmart.
Get smart and buy real gowns from real stores with real service.
Davids quality is terrible. Gowns for the masses and the real is joke is you pay just just as much or more than you would for real designer gowns.
Don`t let the Oleg name fool you. He doesn`t design a thing. He is like 100 years old.
Wake up girls...bridal is special...don`t be mistreated at a Davids where they laugh at you and treat you like cattle. They laugh all the way to the bank.
By the way, Davids is a major investor in they use all your personal information to their benefit.

To the coward who bashed the girls for complaining online about David`s Bridal: I call you coward because you didn`t even have the good taste to leave your name! You put people down and hide behind anonymous? Who`s the REAL pain in the @ss? I`m so glad these girls wrote that! I have an appointment to go to David`s Jan.5,04. Now im not going! My question is...I live in Mass., where is a good discount place to go to? To the coward, you should feel awful, and blessed, awful for berating people who had a rotten time at a time that is supposed to be joyfull, and blessed you didn`t go through that!! Stacy

I totally agree with you about david`s....I never went there personally but I was calling around trying to find a dress and they were so rude to me over the phone that I would never give them the time of day to even go into there shop to try to find a dress....I am so glad that I never did in reading this message about them....thanks and to those of you in the future looking for a dress david`s is not the place to go....

Girls, don`t judge all David`s Bridals the same way. They are all not bad. If you have a concern, speak to the manager on duty. She will help you. If you are unfortunate enough to have an uncaring manager/staff, then the corporate office is just a phone call away.

Forget David`s!
I bought my gown from the Davinci Line and not only did I get MY gown - a brand new gown in less than ten days but I save $500.00 compared to David`s!
So you can get a brand new gown if you like the David`s styles for less money - just like I did!!

Ladies,
I own a bridal shop in PA and I carry the Davinci line of gowns. These gowns are almost exact copies of David`s gowns but CHEAPER! And the gowns come in VERY quickly.

Only bridal boutiques carry these gowns so you should be guaranteed one on one PERSONAL service.

If anyone has found a David`s gown they loved but doesn`t want to deal with them, please email me! I may be able to give you a great deal on the same gown!

Please place DAVINCI in the subject line!

I fell in love with a Davids gown and bought it at Davids. After speaking w/ a co-worker and telling her about all the alterations I would need b/c I am only 5`1, she told me to call and ask for a maximum estimate of the cost. Then SURPRISE!! Davids tells me they can`t alter the dress now. (BUt in the future they won`t put anyone less than 5`7 in the dress--like I care). So be careful my PETITE ladies. Some people are just in it for the commission and can care less that we`ll be drowning in a pool of satin and organza.

My daughter and myself traveled 1 1/2 hrs. Today to go to David`s Bridal in West Palm Beach,Fl. What waste of time. It has to be the most disgraceful buisness I have ever been to. A thrift store would have better. I cannot image ever going there or doing business with David`s. We went to I DO BRIDALS IN STUART,FL and recieved service for a princess. Also the Prices are about the same.

This is in reference to the writer who wrote, “Ask to speak to a manager.” I did and she was no better than the other so called “bridal consultants”. I had several style numbers that I had taken out of their online catalog. When I ask for help to find those specific numbers, the manager replied, “Oh, we don’t have time to do that. You can look around and find them yourself.” So, I did retry to speak to a manager. Anyway, it was the worst shopping experience of my life. I felt like I was at a flea marker except at least at a flea market the people are polite.

Does it depend on the store you go too??
I went to David`s in New Castle, De and was treated like a queen. I was given two individuals on the first visit. One to pull dresses and the other to help me get into them. I bought nothing and tried on a ton. Went back another day and was treated very nicely again. I had no problems w/service. I was disappointed when a dress i liked would have to be ordered in white as they only carry beige in the store and I would have to buy the dress prior to even trying it on but I guess they don`t want the burden of trying to resell a ordered dress. Overall, my experience was a 10/10 and a 8/10. I plan on getting a david`s dress f(my second) though I already have purchased a $2,200.00 dress. Maybe I will find this for less and then pay for my bridesmaid dresses but if not I will get it from the store directly. I also have to remember that these individuals work on commission, think car sales people. Though we want to think it`s about us b/c it`s our wedding day.. It`s not. However, that does not mean that anyone should be treated unkindly and then purchase from those same providors. I, too, would find a store that can provide more personalized service. :)

I got married December 20, 2003. I got my dress at David`s Bridal. The selection of dresses was wonderful, and I had a wonderful consultant who helped me get in and out of my dress. In addition, the selection for bridesmaid dresses was wonderful. So much to choose from. Everything was on track. The problems started when I went to get my wedding dress altered. I was only supposed to have had 2 alteration fittings, but on my second visit, the woman who altered it miscalculated her measurements, and one side of the dress was longer than the other one, and the bustle was completely messed up. In addition, she wanted to take in the bodice. I`m 5`2, 107 lbs. If that top had been taken in, I would`ve had to lose at least 7 lbs to be able to breathe. I made sure I had my mom with me at all of my fittings so there would be a pair of extra eyes. It took 5 fittings and two different seamstresses to fix my dress. The next problem I had with Davids happened 7 weeks before the wedding. Davids policy on ordering bridesmaid dresses was that the order wasn`t to go through until all the bridesmaids had paid for the dresses and the shoes upfront. My maid of honor paid for her dress in September. Another had to wait until October to pay for her dress because some unexpected medical bills popped up, and I ended up paying for it after her friend bailed on her. My third bridesmaid kept saying she was going to put money down, but she never did and she never return my calls. She ended up dropping out of the party that week without telling anybody. Anyway, I got a new bridesmaid and she put money down on her dress and shoes. One consultant told me the dresses would be in a week before the wedding, another said Dec. 17th, three days before the wedding, a third told me Dec. 26th, six days after the wedding. What the heck?? My father went up to Davids and raise all kind of cain and then some. Well, three to four weeks before the wedding, two of the dresses came in. A week later, the third dress came in. Months ago, I told the consultants that my maid of honor was to be in plum and my two bridesmaids were to be in wine. Well, they screwed up and had all three girls in wine after they dyed my maid of honor`s shoes plum. After some more heck was raised by my MOH, the problems were fixed. The girls took their dresses elsewhere for alterations and saved a lot of money and time. There was no stress there. But thank God, everything worked out beautifully. The weather was perfect, the girls looked beautiful, I looked beautiful, and my husband and I had the best day of our lives. What I would tell future brides is this: go to Davids to buy your wedding dress because the selection of dresses is endless, but get it altered elsewhere since they don`t seem to know what they`re doing, and they charge an arm and a leg. Truthfully, the policy on the bridesmaids dresses is stupid because not everybody is going to have the money right then and there. I say if you find your bridesmaid dresses at Davids, get them off the rack that way there`s not screw ups. Last, but not least, if there is something not right at the Davids at your location, tell them right then and there how you want it. If they don`t comply to your requests, go elsewhere. This is your day, your wedding. You do things the way you want to.

Well, I don`t have a dramatic story, but I have had a few experiences and have formed an opinion about David`s Bridal.
I was so excited to see a brand-new David`s bridal being built 3 minutes from my house. I couldn`t wait to go in.
The first time I went in I just looked around. No one told me that I was supposed to register first. So the second time that I went in I started pulling dresses off of the rack (like you do in a lot of stores) to try on. I was immediately summoned by the sales lady to come register first! And that
"She would pull my dresses for me after I`d picked them out from a catalog!"
Then she only let me try on 3, not to mention she stalked and hovered over me while I was trying on the dress. Like I was going to buy it right then and there! She just made me feel SO Uncomfortable! Then the following night I received a telemarketing call from a dinnerware company saying that she`d received information from David`s Bridal and that I`d won a free trip, that I didn`t even register for!!!! I was fuming, they sold my information!
Then my mom wanted to go in and look for a dress for her. I really didn`t want to go, but I decided I`d give them one more chance. We walked in at fifteen minutes until 5:00 and they told us that they were too busy to get with us that it was too close to closing...at 9:00!!!
I`m not sure about every store but in the one here the ladies act like snoots guarding their discount warehouse. (That`s how I feel when I`m in there) When I walk into a specialty boutique, the ladies are so nice and accommodating. They are the ones who should be acting like snoots!
Not to mention the prices! Whoa! Their $1200 Oleg blah, blah, blah doesn`t hold a candle so the Maggies and the Mori Lees and the so ons...that the boutiques carry.
Come on! Where do they get off????
Trust me, I`ve told everyone how they treated me!

David`s Bridal is nothing like that. I must disagree with you. I purchased my wedding and bridesmaids dresses through them, as well as my mom`s dress and we got a great deal with After Hours Formalwear on the tux`s for the guys. I have since gotten a job there and from the inside have learned just how much out of thier way your bridal consultant will go to give you the upmost service and respect for your big day. The gowns are not of low quality, and the prices are extremely low. You can get a dress that looks just as good if not better than the dress that Vera Wang has, or Alfred Angelo, or any of those bigs names for thousands less. And the Oleg Cassini Dresses are very special, they are slightly more in price than the other gowns, but still much less than any other big designer, and they are made to order. Working at David`s has tught me a lot about the wedding business, and I wouldn`t tell anyone to go anywhere except David`s to look for her dress. They have optimum service and excellent gowns.

Hey Everyone!

I am sorry that all of you had such a bad experience at David`s Bridal. I went to the one in Mobile, Al. And that is where I purchased my wedding dress. I had a good experience, and I love my dress. I am getting married this June. I just found this website, and it is pretty informative. I love hearing about everyone else`s wedding experiences. I hope that you all have better luck with your wedding planning. Good luck!

You know davids is a hell of a place not in a good sence either. I bought my dress from them and when i did they told me i had seven years to return it if i did not wear it. Well low and behold i didnt, me and my guy broke up and so on... Then i found my true love, and we are to be married, well when i went to go return it i was told by the gm that i cant. And not only but a few months ago a friend of mine returned a dress and got a new one there, and they say you cant return it. What the hell i am taking this all the way up until i get my money back
