Bridal Shower Ideas Anyone?????

Hello all ! I am looking for some fun ideas for a bridal shower. But...here is the deal. This is my second marriage and I am 36 so I am established in my life I dont really need any gifts or household items per say. Maybe fun "small" gifts ?? I never had a bridal shower in my first marriage and my MOH really wants to give me one this time. We really would like to have fun with this someone suggested a "round the clock" party which each guest would be assigned a time and they would have to buy a gift pertaining to that time of the day that I would use. Any suggestions would be greatly appricated!! ;)

Rochelle,
Since when does a bride do her own shower?

I love pampered chef items. Quality stuff!!!! But I have to agree that it would be tacky (yes, I used the word tacky). Sifting through catalogs is not most people`s idea of a fun shower. It`s also kind of awkward and embarrassing when everyone can see how much everyone spends on gifts. Plus these types of commercial parties there is always pressure to buy, even though it might be subtle, most people feel it. That`s not the kind of feeling you would really want guests to feel at a shower. It`s fine for regular parties when people are coming for the sole reason of buying the items for themselves. They choose whether or not they want to come. But for a shower people want to come because they want to celebrate with the bride. So they may just put up with this type of party for the sake of not spoiling the bride`s day and to be with her. That`s a shame I think. It`s much better if you let people choose and purchase their own gifts and bring them to the shower. Instead of wasting time weeding thru the catalog everyone will be able to spend quality time with the bride - visiting and mingling and playing games and eating/drinking whatever and watching her open all her pretty wrapped packages!! Of course the woman who is advertising a pampered chef party is going to say everyone has a fantastic time. What else would you expect her to say? Hi, throw a pampered chef party it`s boring and uncomfortable?
