Which Name Goes First?

When putting our names on our favors and place cards, which name goes first? Heidi and Sean or Sean and Heidi. Does ediquette say there is a right or wrong way? I always heard the man goes before the lady but at every wedding I have been to, the favors and tags read Heidi and Sean (the girl than the guy). Please help, I am ordering favors tonight! Thanks!
