Getting Hitched In Niagara Falls
Hello all,
I will be tying the knot on New Years day in Niagara Falls, but wanted to ask if anyone has any suggestions as far as which side should we stay on the Candian side or NY side? I have heard that the food prices are outrages....any recommendations. Also I am requesting a fallsview room, any good hotel recommendations, I was looking at the Embassy Suites, good price but not sure about location.
Any help would be appreciated!

I would stay on the Canadian side -- it`s a better view in my opinion. I stayed at what used to be the Minolta tower (or they call it the shot glass hotel) and it was spectacular. The room had a panoramic view of the falls and it took my breath away. I honestly can`t remember the name of the hotel - but if you call any of them in Niagra Falls they will know which one I`m talking about. The hotel is actually built behind another hotel so there is only four floors to the hotel but they are way up high over the other hotel so that you can see the falls -- the hotel actually looks like a wine glass with the top of the glass being the hotel rooms. It`s really a fantastic place.
Personally I didn`t think the food was that over-priced. I thought it was pretty reasonable since it is such a tourist attraction.
I`m sure you already know this, but be sure to bring your passport or birth certificate. When I went, we didn`t know we needed it since we had our driver`s license (I`d never been to Canada before and I guess I didn`t think it through very well) but we were able to get into Canada after a lot of hassel.
