Fall Wedding Not Halloween
Hello,
My wedding date is October 2, 2004. My girls will be wearing deep wine and a dark hunter green. The flowers are roses and cala lilies in deep yellows and oranges with gold ribbon. I am making leaf shaped tart candles for each guest. I also am going to use maple branches in my reception hall with the leaves on draped with white mini-lights. My wedding cake is carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and I am going to have candles everywhere.

I just got married and had a total fall themed wedding. Everyone commented on how beautiful everything looked. I wanted fall but wanted it elegant and not halloweeny (not that, that is bad, but I didn`t care for it).
To begin with I picked an ivory dress(more for my skin tones than anything else)but that was the kick off of absolutely NO WHITE! We used all fall colored flowers rusts, oranges, reds and yellows. Against my dress they were stunning. For all the accent pieces, we went with ivory and gold. Flowergirl basket, ring pillow, guest book and pen all ivory with gold embroidered thread throughout. Pew Bows simple but ivory. We made our centerpieces (cheap) glass vases from HobbyLobby filled with silk fall flowers and pumpkin spiced potpouri with an ivory bun candle on top and a gold filagree bow tied around the neck. These were placed on 12 in round mirrors and fall silk leaves surrounded them on the tables. I made the card collector out of a large round hat box covered in Ivory material and gold cording accenting it. My favors were pumpkin spice votives labeled with pic of fall leaves and personalized with our names and date and then wrapped in ivory tulle. My flowergirl dressed also in ivory dropped fall silk leaves as she came down the aisle. My unity candle and tapers were ivory with actual embedded fall leaves in them and sat in gold holders on the alter. My programs for church were printed on fall themed paper....my save the date cards were refrigerator magnets with a picture of us standing in front of a red leaf bush and said....As autumn leaves turn their brillant hue two hearts will join and say "I do"....our invitations started with the same saying and were ecru with an autumn leave on it. My girls worn dresses that were called shimmering leaf....actually almost a bronze color. My cake had edible fall leaves on top of it. We had bride and groom chocolate covered strawberries. The bride dipped in white chocolate and the groom had tuxes on. They were placed at each seat on top of a gold plate which was set on a folded dark green napkin. We took the fall theme and ran with it, it was fun finding everything and when we got it all together it all just popped! I hope this has helped and you can use some of our ideas. I am so excited now when anyone asks about a fall theme because it certainly worked for me! Good Luck!
