African American Wedding Officiant

Just out of curiousity - why the preference for African American?

We were looking for an African American minister with the same traditional values as ourselves. However, at this point, any minister that can do a non-denominational wedding is fine. Hope that answers your question.

Thank you for all of your replys. The answer to the first question why the preference, it is basically what we WANTED, it is our wedding and we are free to choose and decide. Nothing against anyone one race.
The officiant we chose is not African American, but is very nice


To Emma, we were unable find an african american minister, we did decide on an officiant that is a non-denominational minster who works at my medical center.
This makes it better, due to the fact that we have some history.
