Post Wedding Announcements, Gifts

Hello,

Is there ever a proper way to send out post wedding announcements and still request gifts even though there isn`t a reception planned in the near future.
All but 2 of the couple`s family members live in another state and the couple is having a very small ceremony that theparents, siblings, and members of their very small church will be attending, So again, is it proper to ask for and expect gifts?

It`s never okay to request gifts, no matter when or where the wedding takes place and no matter who is or isn`t in attendance. You can send out announcements. I`m sure many will send a gift anyway.

Oh my, one should never request gifts. The prior two posts are 100% correct -- it`s never acceptable to request a gift.

What makes you think you are entitled to a gift? How presumptous of you to think you are entitled to a gift. Although most guests do give the bride and groom a wedding gift, it is not mandatory.
