Eloping In Michigan

It depends on how far away you`d like to go from your home. You can do one of many things.

1. Go down to your local courthouse, get a marriage license and get married right there by a justice of the peace

2. Go to Vegas

3. Go to the Caribbean and have a beach wedding

Good luck! (I`d personally chose the Caribbean)

She`s planning on eloping IN Michigan, not leaving to elope!

Thus the suggestion to go to the local courthouse to get married by the justice of the peace.

What about mackinac Island?? I live here and the grand hotel are open right now it`s beautiful and snowy at the moment

I would suggest Mackinac Island it is very beautiful. I went to a wedding there once. It is very expensive at the grand hotel and I would assume that that particular place is unnecessary if your eloping your probably not planning on having a lot of guests. There are a few small churches and many restaurants and nice hotels. I would suggest getting married in a small church in town having and intimate dinner and staying in one of the bed and breakfast inns. They have a lot of them. They are often booked a year in advance but you may find something that suits your needs. There is also many things to do on the island as well as off the island for a weekend honeymoon.

If you haven`t already gone and "done it" you can elope anywhere in Michigan- my sister eloped by finding a cool officiant who specializes in last-minute weddings and elopements. I am pretty sure they still have a website called uniqueweddings.org with an "elope" page. Otherwise try sellersweddings to find Rev. Jerry. I am also thinking they do small services in their home.
