~*So You Want To Be A Wedding Planner~*
Hello! Well, after seeing dozens of questions on here about becoming a planner, I wanted to put my two cents in!
I am a planner in Akron, Ohio, and I have been involved in the wedding industry since 1996. There are a few correspondence courses available (some significantly better than others) and many online books that you can download, but which ones are good and which ones are a waste of money??
I am a member of the Asssociation of Bridal Consultants, and I took my classes through Education Direct. I chose this company because it is the only one with courses WRITTEN by the Association of Bridal Consultants. The prices are mid-range, and the courses are extensive...covering everything from tradition and etiquette to ethnic and destination weddings. They discuss how to set up your business, pay taxes, get your vendors license, work with other companies, particpate in bridal shows...and MUCH more.
Thanks, and good luck!!

Hi Charity! I am a Junior in college and I am currently pre-med/wannabe wedding planner. I know, the two don`t match at all, but I don`t know where to begin with wedding planning/interning, etc. Although it is what I really want to do. I was wondering if you could help me out on how to get started, etc. Thanks! God Bless,
Krista~
