Who we are:

We are Rabbi David and Cantor Lee, highly experienced dedicated mentors for Bar mitzvah lessons and Preparation.

We do not offer “package programs”. Every Bar/Bat Mitzvah mentoring and training is tailored to the ability and the spiritual needs of every students. This includes Hebrew reading and chanting as well as understanding basic Jewish values.

Over the many years of Bar/Bat Mitzvah mentoring, we have guided many students on their spiritual journey to becoming a Bar/ Bat Mitzvah. Many of them were special needs students who respond best to various teaching modalities and techniques.
Our Hebrew training is highly successful as evident by hundreds of student with whom we worked over the years. It is effective, fun and is carefully adjusted to the student’s learning modality.


We have found that a genuine care for our students, being proud of their progress, as well as patience, compassion, and enthusiasm, always makes our Bar Mitzvah lessons truly enjoyable and effective.

Our philosophy:

A. In addition to Prayer and /or torah chanting, Bar /Bat Mitzvah preparation is about instilling love for Judaism and Israel. Our students are highly successful in learning their Torah Portions and all the major prayers. Experience shows that students live up to their potential if they are inspired to do so. That is why we motivate our students with a true understanding of the significance of the bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation. Given the right motivation, they can easily master chanting their Torah portion and /or important Jewish prayers.

Instilling Jewish Values

Of most importance is the true understanding of basic Jewish values.

We instill in our students the meaning of becoming mature and responsible young adults, both as Jews and as citizen of their country. We make sure that the student truly understand Jewish ethics such as Chesed and Tzrdakah (our obligation to perform act of kindness and charity) , “Tikun Olam” ( our obligation to improve our environment and our world) “Baal Tashchit” Our responsibilities as custodians of the world ) –
To name a few.
It is also important to note that Jewish spiritual matters are always introduced in accordance with individual students readiness and maturity.

Our Methodology

In order to create a positive Bar /Bat Mitzvah training experience we use three proven principles:

• Learning In Small Increments:
Assigning clear and reasonable goals for every unit of the Bar Mitzvah lessons

• Using Phonetics to Introduce the Hebrew Letters, Vowels and Words:
The Hebrew letters and the sound symbols (Vowels) are introduced phonetically by comparing them to the familiar pronunciation of their English counterparts.

• Gradual Integration of the Learned Text with the Chanted Music:
Our unique training method is based on a gradual integration of the learned Torah, Haftarah text with the proper melody.
