I`ve been overweight since I was 14 and now I`m almost 19 and I have Juvenile Arthritis and working out is very hard on my body. I`ve tried exercise and dieting but it doesn`t work for me. I get angry a lot because my brother has always been thin and my own mother is losing a lot of weight and now she is thinner than me. I need help losing 50 pounds not just for my wedding on 4/17/05 but for my health as well. If anyone can help me please email me at brandy_crockett2002@yahoo.com. I need help and I know it I just need somewhere to start. Thanx

To do some great aeorbic activity to lose weight and is low impact on your joints, try an aquafit or water aerobics program at your local pool. This was recommended to me following a car accident and I found it excellent exercise to do. Very low impact and easy on the joints and muscles and also very fun. Get some friends together and try it out. And don`t think that it`s all old ladies either. When I go, it`s mostly younger people. Good luck to you both.

Brandy-
You already have started---you realize that you need to lose! I am not a trainer or anything, but you could always see a doctor to get on a healthy program. I`m not sure of your lifestyle, but I would start by cutting out fast food and chocolate (those are my weaknesses!) Exercise is very important, even if it is low impact. Start walking a mile a day and build up--your body will adjust quickly and be able to handle the cardio. I heard once that it takes 17 days to make a habit--and only 3 days to break one! So be consistent! Good luck!
