Hello and Congratz,
What colors are you wanting to use? Are you wanting the Valentine theme? There are tons of things you could do, but what do you have in mind so far?

Here`s a Favor suggestion. How about heart shaped cookies with either a personalized message or a favorite snapshot?

Thanks for all those ideas! Actually, I would love some response on wedding etiquette....We are planning on getting married March 6 at a private ceremony (just us and our pastor in his office), then taking a bed and breakfast honeymoon, then inviting guests to a reception following our honeymoon. What rules should I follow for this? Another option we are toying with is having a true wedding ceremony on Valentine`s Day. Could I really get this together in time? We don`t want a lot of frills...Can`t afford them, to be honest..Thanks for your advice!

Hello,
Yes, you could put the wedding together in time to have it on Feb. 14th. However, i do know that flowers will be more expensive during that time. Even if you order from florist ahead of time because the wholesalers that the flowers come from raise their prices. Also you will need to check with florist as soon as possible to see if they can do your flowers for that day.
If you need any help on flower ideas or tips on doing them yourself, please feel free to email me at angwillard@yahoo.com
Congratz and have a great day.

I am getting married this V-Day too! If you really want to do it, start now! Keep your guest list small, or offer a shorter cocktail/orderve reception. I would rent a local hall, decorate liberally with heart shaped balloons and red and white. Go to Costco and get horderves or have a company do it. For music, a DJ is the most affordable, or you could call the local college or HS and ask if their jazz band would play. Or you could just bring your own CD`s and put someone in charge of music. Invitations came very quickly from AMerican Weddings.com. PHotography will probably be your biggest expense. I did get real flowers, but coulc only get roses. My guy is doing 2 dozen mixed roses on every table. DId you get the dress?

HI, Anoher way I saw to save money food wise, is to have a mashed potato bar. I saw that you cold serve them in martini glasses (optional, mashed potini bar) and just have a bar full of toppings. I think it could be very inexpensive!

Hello ladies....I also am getting married on Valentines day and I am sooo excited....not only are we getting married, it is the 10 year anniversary of our first date. I am also using red and white, and hearts is the big theme at our reception. I am having heart shaped balloons and napkins. We are putting Valentine cards on the table for guests to write down requests for the dj. I am hanging cupids and hearts from the ceilings. We are walking through a lighted heart shaped archway. My centrepieces are going to be martini glasses filled with gel and i found some mini glass hearts to put in the gel along with some confetti. Man they are going to look good. My party favors are going to be mini martini glasses filled with the old traditional cinnamon hearts. I am also making the heart shaped cookies with our names on them to serve with the midnight lunch. Hearts hearts hearts.....Another idea we came up for, for places that do not allow confetti on the tables. I found some stickers at a dollar store, that have valentine sayings on them, you can stick them on the table in place of confetti and NO MESS, that is if you are having plastic table clothes. ....We also were blessed with twins, a boy and girl, who are six right now and they, of course will be our flowergirl and ringbearer. What a wonderful day to have a wedding......good luck too all....

My Fiance and I are getting married Valentine`s Day. It`s very small but the details I have gone big on such as dresses tux`s and food. Everything else is subdued. The reception is at my Maid of Honours house. The guest list is only family and very close friends (50) We`re getting married in the capel at city hall. I`m now trying to get some ideas for wedding favours. Any ideas out there ;O)

Hello, fellw valentines day brides!!!
Thanks so much for all your ideas from my poriginal post.

I found these adorable stuffed red bears at Tom Thumb, with stuffed conversation hearts on their tummies for $10. My three flower girls are going to carry those instead of baskets. My one attendant will wear a red dress, which I got for 49.00 at an outlet. I am having trouble finding a dress for the girls, though...

My grom and best man will wear red vests, or black with red trim.

I rented my dress, veil, and slip for 99.00.

I am thinking about carrying a single red rose with ribbon attached.

Our reception is cake and punch only. A friend volunteered to make the grooms cake. We are going to put conversation hearts, M&Ms, and kisses in silver serving trays. We will put confetti (conversation heart) on the tables.

We will probably put valentine stuffed animals on the tables, as well. My friend who is decorating the reception area is going to drape the tables with ivory sheets from the dollar store, then put red table cloths over, then "skirt" the areas with tulle.

For favors, I am going to wrap bubbles and conversation heart candy in tulle, and tie with red and ivory ribbon.

My grom is a youth minister, and we are asking the youth at the church to help us by being assistant photographers. We`ll have several disposeable cameras in envelopes, along with a "scavenger hunt" list of stuff to look for. I can`t wait to see what they capture!

3 friends are taking pictures, and we are not hiring a professional photographer.

Best wishes, all, and God bless!
M

Congratulations to all you Valentine brides. Just wanted to suggest music for you.I just got married in November and had an entire fall themed wedding, it was perfect. What I wanted to share with you is that our soloist sang as the Prelude in church "Valentine" by Jim Brickman. It has sentimental meaning for us, but it would be perfect for Valentines day. The lyrics are perfect! Good Luck....
