MEDIEVAL WEDDING

Looking for some suggestions
We are looking to have an outdoor ceramony
(wishfully on beautiful grounds)
Then the reception right inside for conveinence and also as a back up plan .
Just to be on the safe side
In case the weather changes
I was wondering if anyone knows of any mansions or any unique places like mansions with indoor and outdoor rental availability
We live in philadelphia but would not mind if we have to go to an outside county
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Mary,

Not sure how far you are willing to travel. There is a place over near Pittsburgh that is perfect for a meieval wedding. It is called Shakespears at Olde Stonewall. It is a beautiful facility that was designed to replicate a sixteenth century castle. It is located on one of the areas best golf courses. I am a mobile DJ and have performed there many times for weddings. You may want to take a look at their web site: www.shakespearesrestaurant.com

Best of luck with your wedding.

My husband and I are in the same boat as you... We are looking to renew our vows after 10 years. I currently put in a request to medieval times to have the ceremonies there and then the reception to follow with one of their shows. It sets the mood and will be something special for everyone to remember. Good Luck on your upcoming nuptuals and congratulations!

Hello Marleen
Thank you so much for the info, and we had already checked in to having it at medieval times.
Although it is a very nice place to dine, we felt that it would be a little to rushed for what we were looking for.
Thank you again,
And congrats!!!! I hope your day is a beautiful and memorable one!

Check out the Whitby Castle, in Rye New York, about 2 hours from you. They have a web page.

Hi, Mary --

How about a "castle" right in Doylestown, Bucks County? If you haven`t been there, you`re missing a local experience!

Weddings are performed either outdoors, in the castle itself, or in the restored & huge "carriage house" (or something of the sort). If the ceremony is outdoors, you can process down an incredibly lovely sweep of curved stairway from the carriage house. This link will offer just a few pics of the site (once there, click on Fonthill, then on rentals): http://www.mercermuseum.org/

As a local wedding officiant, I`m familiar w/ most of the historic mansions in the Philadelphia area. Write to me directly, & I can offer other sites as well.

If you become interested in using Fonthill, I have a proposition for you, possibly to both of our advantages! Again, you can contact me via the above email ...

Good luck!
