Engagement Party

My Fiancee & I have been together for 4 years & are getting Married April 30,2005. I have tried talking to him about us having a Engagement Party But he`s unsure if we should have a Engagement Party or not since we`ve been together so long. Has anyone else been in the same situation? If we do have a Engagement Party when should we have it?

My fiance and I were together for 10 years before we were engaged - and we had a great time at our engagement party! It doesn`t matter how long you`ve been together for, it`s just a party to announce and celebrate the engagement!

Whose job is it to throw the engagement party? friends or parents of the couple?

Although it`s usually the bride`s parents that host it, anyone can host an engagement party for the couple. The couple themselves don`t throw their own engagement party.
