Creating Your Own Aisle Runner?
Does anyone know where to purchase a non-slip aisle runner...that can be hand painted? Basically a do it yourself aisle runner kit?

Hello,
I have made a painted runner.. I used the backing for curtains. I found it at a fabric store like JoAnns. I painted diamond in a soft yellow down it. It was very neat when it was layed out and we added some rose petals along the side of it.
First I found out the length of the runner I was going to need for the church. I went with the curtain backing because it is thicker and non slip. Plus it would not wrinkle and hold the paint. I next I made a diamond pattern on a piece of post board. Then I traced the pattern on the runner softly with pencil. I rolled it up as I went so I could keep it straight and not to put creases in it. I had the pant matched to the colors and painted the diamonds, rolling after it dried. I painted the runner on several tables to keep it clean.
You can do anything you want design wise..:) If you need any more help, please feel free to email me at angwillard@yahoo.com
Hope this has helped and have fun :)

I found this website for The Original Runner Company that sells non-slip aisle runners. They have a bunch of different colors to choose from and they also have many great photos of hand painted runners. It is a really great webiste! Maybe this will help you-
