Wedding Cale

I was just wondering what everyone was doing for their cake. I really don`t feel like (or have the money) to spend $600 on a cake for 300 people. Thanks.

A good idea is to get a smaller cake for the cutting and then get similar sheet cakes and keep them in the back for serving guests, no one will ever know and it will definately cut your costs!

I never thought that a grocery store would make a decent wedding cake, never even considered them as an option. But after my fiance and I tried some from a local grocery store chain at a wedding show, we realized that this particular chain was excellent. The cakes were made from scratch at store level; not only did they taste terrific, they were beautiful! We paid $150 for our cake at a Canadian grocery store chain called Superstore, and I couldn`t have been more pleased. All of our guests thought it was delicious. And no, we don`t work for them. :)

Not to say that ALL grocery stores would do well at making wedding cake. But don`t automatically write them off either, not until you`ve seen and tried it.

A five layer cake is included in our hotel package. We requested cheesecake(the grooms fav) we found out that they can`t layer cheesecake because they would collapse onto each other. So they said that they will make five cheesecakes in graduated sizes and place them on cake plates in a tiered fashion. Also they are going to frost them with fondont frosting that can be removed after the official cutting for serving.
