I`ve been invited to the home of my daughter-in-law`s family in New York for Christmas. I will be flying. Would it be proper for me to send a "Texas themed" food item (such as a Texas shaped cake) ahead for the Christmas dinner?

Hey Nita sounds like fun... Going to New York and all and yes if I was you I would make something like a cake shaped like Texas... There`s no harm in taking something from home to New York! So to answer your question... There is nothing wrong in taking a cake shaped like texas!
