Advice On How To Remember Someone

My fiance`s mother passed away this pass year due to cancer. We would like to show our rememberance sometime during the wedding. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I recently went to a wedding when during the ceremony the minister made mention of the groom`s mother - at that point and they lit a pink candle.

We are lighting candles with pictures of our grandparents in front of them. We are going to be having a song (not yet selected) playing during this. We are also going to have a short reading about how important they were to us, and how although we know that they can`t be here in body, that they are still watching down from heaven and here with us today and everyday in spirit. Afterwards, we are debating releasing white doves, one for each of us, and one for each of our deceased grandparents.

Lindesy,
Please see the posts on How To Include A Deceased parent. I have posted my idea on that thread. I am also using this poem in my program, that I got on another message board.

Although death has seperated us physically,
Faith and love have bound us eternally.
Though we cannot see you, we know you are here.
Though we cannot touch you, we feel the warmth of your smile,
As we begin a new chaopter in our lives.

Today we pause to reflect upon thoes who have shaped our character,
Molded our spirits and touched our hearts.
May the lighting of this candle be a reminder of the memories
We have shared,
A representation of the everlasting impact you have made
Upon our lives."

I hppe that this helps and good luck.

I got married this weekend on Nov.15. And my church has and overhead projector that does computerize montages. My husband had the honor of walking his mother down the isle to the first pew. As she went to light the unity candle they brought up his picture and on the side it said in memory of... It was a real tear jerker but it meant the world to my husband.
