Chapel In Pennsylvania
My biggest dream is to get married at dusk by candlelight in a one room old church in the country...similar to JFK Jr. And Caroline. Does anyone know of any in this area...I`m looking in Delaware, Chester, and Montgomery Counties? My uncle is a deacon and is going to perform the ceremony, but I need a location! Any ideas will help. Thanks

Hi, Jennifer,
I`m in Delaware County, & have just a few suggestions for where to start looking. On the historic Grange Estate on the Main Line is a 100+ year old former dairy barn turned UCC chapel. In terms of your dream site, it fits "old" & "one room". On the other hand, though it`s surrounded by lots of land, it`s not "the country". Also, the interior, while lovely, is pretty plain.
There`s also a site in Bucks Co (?) called the "Wayside Chapel" or something like that. Again, one room. Very pretty. And rentable.
You can find links to both these places on our main website: http://www.logoswed.bigstep.com/
Once there, go to the "recommended links" page. There, look under "sites" for these links. Also under "sites" you`ll find a resource called "fieldtrips.com". That might lead you to some other sources.
Good luck with finding the place of your dreams!

You might also want to check out the chapel available for rent (expensive - $1,000) right in the Valley Forge Park. It`s not old (1967) but is made to look older w/a historic colonial flair. Simple and small (holds up to 110). Plz E-Mail me if you want further info. Lori

Thanks Bon...I will definitely look into both of these. The Grange Estate sounds familiar...I used to work on the main line at The American College....which I am now also thinking of if we wait until spring to do this. Thank you too Lori! Unfortunately, I would LOVE to get married in that park, but the price is out of our league right now. Thanks to both of you for your suggestions! Smiles!
