Matron Of Honor

My sister has asked me to be the matron of honor and our other sister to be the maid of honor at her wedding. I`ve been divorced for 8 years and resumed using my maiden name. Can a divorced woman still be a matron of honor? Also, if not, she said that she would have 2 maids of honor. Since I`ve already been married, I didn`t know about this "title" as well. What honor role can a divorced woman use?

Perhaps you could ask her if she would refer to both of you as: "Women of Honor"

You don`t necessarily have to use Matron or Maid...

Just a thought....

Kay, thank you for your input. Today a wedding annoucement was listed in our local hometown newspaper and coincidentally, the bride used the words "honorary attendants" instead of matron and maid of honor. I will discuss your suggestion and the wedding announcement with my sister.
