Need Ideas For A Christening

I will be having a christening ceremony for my 11, 8 and 1 year old in January. It`s going to more of a blessing of the child for my 1 year old though, because I believe baptism is a personal choice rathe than a tradition. I need ideas though on the party after the ceremony. My husband wants to keep it simple with just dinner and music. Not even a dj just maybe some background music or something of the sort. What can we do to keep the guests entertained. Is a dj even neccesary for a christening party? Will people be expecting one? I`m not even sure wher it will be held. We live on Long Island, NY. Catering halls here are very expensive, so we need some alternative ideas.
