An Aerial Infrared Roof Inspection is a simple, non-destructive procedure that accurately identifies roof moisture before there are visible signs, structural damage or business interruption.
Aerial Infrared Roof Surveys are typically done from a airplane while flying 500 to 1,000 feet over the target at around 115mph. Blimp IR pioneered using a Blimp as a platform to shoot infrared roof surveys from while live streaming its video signal to the internet in real-time. At speeds of 5mph and altitudes as low as 50 feet, a blimp can stay over the target area longer and capture HD images not possible from an airplane.
Blimp IR was founded by Craig Grossman who pioneered aerial infrared roof surveys in 1979 with liquid nitrogen cooled infrared cameras which at the time were the size of a compact refrigerator.
