Winter Wedding Reception Outside

I`m having a wedding in late December and plan to have the reception at my house. I plan to have around 200 people and have the reception outside. My idea was to have a VERY large tent that is closed off with space heater and the dance floor and band in there and the food and drinks in my house. Any suggestions?? I live in Tennessee so it won`t be too cold, but it is in the evening so I`m a little bit worried about the temperature. Please let me know if you have any ideas as to how to make this work.

Hhhmmm,
First of all always have a backup plan if you are planning to have either the wedding or reception outside. You never know how the weather will turn out until closer to your big day. :)
Let people know that the reception will be held outside, that way they can dress warmer than if they knew they were going to be inside all the time. Heaters would help some, but they can also be a concern with fires and getting hurt if not careful. Are you going to have the reception during the day or evening? That could also play a big part in your idea also. You could also serve more of the hot drinks also, like hot cider, hot tea, coffee and the such.
Well, that is my 2 cents for now..:)

Well, one option is you could narrow your list of people down, and maybe you can hold it inside the house. Of course this is just a suggestion, being I dont know the size of your house. I do know that with a tent and the space heaters it could still be cold inside the tent, and you don`t want your guests to beuncomfortable. I not to keen on the whole food in the house thing. So, people would have to go back and forth. Maybe you should check into renting a hall. Call your local american legion halls, Elks lodge, or VFW. Ssome hotels even have conference rooms which can be converted into banquets. You can rent these anywhere from 200 and up.
