Outdoor Wedding Suggestions
I need help! I`m getting married next summer in my parents backyard, and I need suggestions for the groomsman attire, and any thoughts about decorations and such. The background setting is a creek with lots of trees and a rock garden is what we will be standing in, my husband to be is a "big time "outdoors person and so is the whole wedding party. I need suggestions for dressy type "hiking" looking attire. Any help with ideas would be great. I`m just starting to plan and have a little while. Thank you so much

Try using potted plants or planting Rose Bushes around the yard. You could also cover your tables with
White Lacy type table covering that you can purchase by the roll. Try using flowers in Vases on your tables as centerpieces.

Hi, Wendy --
First, what time of day is your wedding?
Second, unless you intend for your whole wedding to have an over-arching theme of "hiking", a dressy "hiking"-look attire might be a jarring note. You could still go with unconventional dress, w/o introducing a theme-look.
In one of the most memorable ceremonies my husband & I performed (we`re wedding officiants), the groom went for a California sort of laid-back look: nice slacks; open-neck shirt, not tucked-in. The bride wore a low-cut lilac evening gown, w/ a wreath of flowers in her hair. The wedding was on the outdoor patio of a restaurant, & as a steel-drum group played background music, the couple mingled with their guests. At some point, we said, "Shall we begin?" Guests gathered `round in a semi-circle, and with a child asleep on a nearby bench, the couple loosely enbraced very sweetly throughout the whole ceremony. Borrowing from African-American tradition, they "jumped the broom" at the ceremony`s end.
None of it was traditional, yet it "fit" not only the couple but also the outdoor surroundings.
Good luck w/ whatever choices you make!
