Shoes For The Bride - Color???

I love this website! Anyhow, I am writing today to see what people think about the bride wearing silver shoes instead of white? I just can`t seem to find any white shoes that I like, but I did find some really nice silver ones. I can`t find one picture of a bride wearing anything but white shoes in the magazines. Any advice? I am also wondering if it is too much to ask the bridesmaids to pay for their dresses and to buy a wrap and to buy a certain colored shoes? Should I just let them wear whatever black shoes they already have??

As for your shoes - as long as they look good with the dress, I see nothing wrong with silver shoes. When I started looking for mine, I was looking at the clear shoes with some silver on them. I thought those were great because I`d definitely be able to wear them again. I ended up getting lucky and finding a cute pair of strappy white shoes for $19 and couldn`t pass them up, so I`m wearing white. Go for what looks good, is comfortable, and something that you like though.

As for the girls - mine are buying their own dresses and shoes to go with. They`re wearing eggplant and will need shoes to go with that, and they have no trouble with that. Buying the things that the bride requests (within reason of course) is par for the course as a bridesmaid. My friend is getting married 2 weeks before me and I`m in her party. I have to deal with the stuff for my wedding and the stuff that I need as a bridesmaid for her, but it`s what I agreed to. If you have a girl in financial troubles, you could discreetly work something out, but basically, if they agree to be in your party then they agree to buy the things necessary for your wedding.

Thanks for your reply about the shoes and everything else. Isn`t it weird how much thought goes into things in preparation for a wedding! I was just wondering if wearing white shoes meant something that I might be unaware of! I will keep these ones and try then on with my dress anyway.
Thanks for the advice on the girls too. I am having trouble asking these things of them though. I know it`s costly!
Well, until the next issue pops up, take care...
